El Diablo Blog Tour

BLOG TOUR September 6th-20th
EL DIABLO
USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR M. ROBINSON
COVER DESIGN: THE FINAL WRAP
RELEASE DATE: AUGUST 30TH, 2016

I was ruthless.
I was feared.
I had sacrificed. Myself. Her. Everything...
Living in a world where I was worth more dead than alive was a choice. I was a bad man, never claimed to be anything else. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Seen things that can’t be unseen. I’ve caused pain that I can’t undo.
It was all my choice.
Every decision.
Every order.
Right and wrong never mattered.
Until her.
She was under my protection, until she became my obsession.
But who was going to save her...
From. Me. The devil himself.

Fate brought us together. Destiny destroyed us.

“Go stretch again, cariño,” I ordered in a dominant tone. Nodding to the barre.
“I’m fine,” she stubbornly replied. Shaking her legs and arms out. Getting back into position, looking at me through the mirror.
I cocked my head to the side, arching an eyebrow. She narrowed her eyes at me, but begrudgingly listened. I pressed play, allowing the melody to once again take over. She placed her leg on the lowest barre, making her ass stick out in my direction.
Tempting me.
She closed her eyes, needing to get lost in the music, wanting to push away all the negative thoughts, already feeling discouraged. I stood, taking off my suit jacket. Rolling up the sleeves of my collared shirt as I stepped onto the hardwood floor. I slowly came up behind her, catching her off guard.
She froze, turning around, opening her eyes. Peering up at me through her lashes. “What are you doing?”
I leaned forward against her ear, grinning. “I’m helping you stretch.” Getting down on my knees in front of her.
Her eyes dilated. The feeling of disappointment replaced with nothing but lust. She placed her arms out to the side, resting up against the barre, supporting her weight. I grabbed her ankle, lifting it up in the air, rubbing along her leg as it was fully stretched, before setting it on the lowest barre. Running my other hand up her side, easing her over toward the extended leg. She understood what I was doing, reaching for her ankle, stretching. Standing back up, bringing her arms above her head, I caressed along her leg again, casually turning her torso so her leg was still placed on the barre behind her.
Her breathing hitched as I touched her all over her lower body. My lips softly kissing the inside of her thigh to where she wanted my mouth the most.

Jem's review of Hunted By Magic by Jasmine Walt

With the sudden disappearance of Iannis, the Chief Mage, Solantha has erupted into pandemonium. Citizens are rioting in the streets, the Mages Guild is on a misguided warpath, and shifters and humans are fleeing the city in droves. Ridden with guilt, Sunaya defies the Mages Guild and goes off in search of Iannis, trekking into dangerous, uncivilized territory to try and make things right. But Sunaya's relationship with Iannis isn't the only thing at stake -- if she doesn't find him soon, the Resistance might just succeed in plunging the Northia Federation into a devastating and bloody civil war.

I'm in love with the series again. Let's just say that this book has found it's way back and is running with the story again as the first book did. It didn't drag at all and kept me entertained through the book, in fact I had to tell my other half to shut up several times as he kept trying to talk to me whilst reading. Note to all non book nerds everywhere, do not talk to someone who is deeply into a book as the reply may not be pretty! I promise I've made it up to him though ;)

I think that Naya has started to grow and mature in this book, I have to admit that I was starting to get a bit irritated with her in Bound by Magic, she was running off on her own, not really working as a team and forgetting some pretty important things. She has redeemed herself in my eyes though & I'm loving her again just as I did in the first book. I also loved that Fenris had a bigger role to play in this book and that learnt his secret, or at least one of them as I think he may have a few more in the Dark cupboard.

Annia also had a much bigger role in this book and I do like her, but my only criticism would be that I'm not loving her yet as I feel that I'm not connecting with her completely. I am hoping though that she still has a big part to play in the next book, and hopefully some of that will be kicking her sisters butt as that really needs to be done.

We're also starting to get somewhere with the feelings between Naya and Iannis, although not completely there yet. There was one very hot scene in this book, which I'm hoping we may see more of in future books. They language also got more colourful in this book, but that doesn't bother me at all, I don't really have the sweetest of tongues myself.

I'm so glad that this series has got its pizzazz back, and will just take the second book as hopefully a very small blip in what is looking to be a great series. I'm looking forward to the next book, I'm just hoping it comes soon, and hopefully it'll be a longer book too.

Excerpt:

He shoved his hands inside his jeans. “Since I’m here, and your mom promised me a
pie, I should get to work.”

I ran my fingers through my hair, moving it away from my face. “You don’t have to stay,
Nate. I mean, I appreciate you wanting to help my mom.”

He ignored me. “Let’s start with the box you’re holding.” He came toward me.
If I had handed it to him, everything would have been just fine. Instead, I backed away,
tripped over a box full of books, and stumbled backward on top of my bed. The box in
my hand went flying onto the floor.

Being a gentleman, Nate reached down to help me clean up the mess. Instead of
putting things back into the box, he sifted through them.

“You still have these?” he asked, holding up a photo of us at a Valentine’s dinner. After
he placed it down, he picked up a smaller box and opened it. It held the crystal bracelet
he had given to me the last Christmas we spent together. It had been a while since I’d
worn it. I’d thought about wearing it again, but not in front of him just yet.

I got off the bed reluctantly, wishing I could hide under the covers instead. Scattered
about the carpet were more photos of us and some cards he had given me for my
birthday, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. Nate always got me a card. He was
sentimental that way.
He slowly peered upward at me with an expression I didn’t understand. Was he mad?
Then, with a hint of a smile, he quickly placed everything inside the box, closed the lid,
and handed it to me. After I took it from his hand, he stood up, facing me.

“I never threw anything you gave me away,” I said, looking down at the box. In the
silence that followed, I wondered what he thought.

He heaved a long sigh. “You kept everything but me.” His words came out soft but
harsh, and they were loud as thunder in my mind.

Hurt swam in his eyes. What do I say after that? He was so right. Before I had the
chance to speak, he turned and walked out of my room, shattering my heart into pieces.

I wanted to cry. I was reliving that night again, the very night I wanted to redo.

Ti's Review - My Commander (Bewitched and Bewildered #1) by Alanea Alder

How do I start this review!!! This book was hilarious, romantic, scary, aggravating, and so much more. But the biggest thing, I couldn’t stop laughing! I cried from laughter most of the book and couldn’t put it down. I was hooked form the very beginning. Now this review is going to be a lot different than my other reviews because well……………. you will just have to see. I promise you, you will laugh.

In the beginning The Alpha Unit (you will find out about them when you read the book, no spoilers here) are talking about their mates and how to find them. Well events happen and Meryn finds herself in a paranormal world, captured by the Alpha unit. When she is locked away in room by Aidan, The commander and leader, she freaks out. (For good reason I mind you). Aiden tells Meryn she is his mate and things go downhill fast. Meryn hits Aiden on the head with the lid of the toilet bowl (classic) and tries to escape. After calming her down and talking things out. She is relaxed and has tons of questions. Mind you while I’m reading this whole scene I’m busting out laughing because Aiden had it coming, you don’t kidnap your mate, lock them in a room and attempt to feed them stale food.

Events continue which I won’t spill because you need to read the book but I will talk about “The Mission” and trust me this will have you rolling. Meryn is starting her period and tells Aidan what it’s like for a human and let’s just say he didn’t take it well. He thinks she is bleeding internally and will die.

“Since it happens every month I don't think she'll die from blood loss. What's the mission?" Darian asked. "She needs tampons. Evidently it helps with this process. We have to secure the location of where they are being sold, acquire them and then get them back to my mate post haste." "You can rely on us Aiden.”

So the men head to the nearest store to purchase tampons for Meryn. When the guys find the tampons they are not sure what size to get and Keelan freaks out when he finds out what they might do.

“Sir, I don't know if these are safe. There is a warning about toxic shock syndrome. These things can kill!" Keelan dropped the box he held and wiped his hands on his pants. The other men immediately dropped the boxes they had been holding.”

Aiden freaks out at this point and then from nowhere old man Bart (I love this man) tells the guys to buy the pack that has multiple sizes. So the guys grab an armful of tampons and go to check out. Bart asks about Aiden’s Mate and  advises him “Better get you some chocolate bars. You can throw those from a distance” At this point I think the guys are terrified for the girls and Bart is having a good laugh.

The book has is steamy moments and its fun. But there are parts in the book that are dark, scary and makes you feel bad for the characters. I was attached to this book the moment I started reading it. Once I was done with book one I bought the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see what the other mates are like and if any of them can compare to Meryn (she is a special breed of human) I have a feeling, this series can only get better and I hope there is a mission in every book!

Quotes:

-“Holy shit balls! Papa bear is freaking awesome!” Meryn whispered. Five sets of eyes immediately went to her. She stepped behind Aiden. She heard guffaws and peeked out to see the fea Elder was laughing and wiping tears.

- Somehow, knowing that her badass mate was going tampon shopping made her cramps a little easier than normal.

- “Better get you some chocolate bars. You can throw those from a distance”

-“Since it happens every month I don't think she'll die from blood loss. What's the mission?" Darian asked. "She needs tampons. Evidently it helps with this process. We have to secure the location of where they are being sold, acquire them and then get them back to my mate post haste." "You can rely on us Aiden.”

-“I am not cute. I am a ferocious killing machine. Paranormals everywhere tremble before me."

"My teddy bear.”

-“Why are you being loud? Is it fun being so loud, this early in the morning? Do you know what happens to loud morning people? They die. They die horrible deaths, mutilated in their sleep, and are then buried with their balls in their loud fucking mouths.”

-“You're doing just fine. You've done everything exactly as I would have done. Have you studied battle strategy?" he asked. "No, but I do play World of Warcraft." "Sounds useful, you'll have to show me later.”

-“Sir, I don't know if these are safe. There is a warning about toxic shock syndrome. These things can kill!" Keelan dropped the box he held and wiped his hands on his pants. The other men immediately dropped the boxes they had been holding.”

-“What are these? They look like scars." Meryn glanced down and realized he was talking about her stretch marks. Had he never seen stretch marks before?”
“Those are called stretch marks."
"Stretch marks? How did you get them?"
"Human females get them when we grow. If we grow too fast our skin rips apart and heals. It's a very painful process." Meryn lied through her teeth. There was no way she was going to discuss stretch marks after the most mind blowing sex of her life. Nope. Wasn't going to happen. Aiden's expression became reverent.
"Human females are amazing creatures, you endure so much pain yet are so fragile." He kissed each shiny line.
I'm going to hell.”

T Review - Sexiest Man Alive by M. Clarke

I had no words when I started reading this book. I was glued from the very beginning. I felt really bad for Nathan and wished I could hurl Olivia off the side of the cliff (Come on girl you would leave that!) After reading more and more into the story I caught myself skipping a lot of the book. I loved the writing but the love triangle didn't sit well with me. Nathan and Olivia are destined to be together but they both need to get over their pride and just admit it. Most of the book I was screaming come on already just kiss her! I hope we they get together in the next book (PLEASE OH PLEASE)

On of the highlight of the book is Josh and Jax are a hoot. I loved those to! There were a breath of fresh air and I wish to know more about them in the next book. Also what is the story is Isla! I know her and Josh are just friends but there is something there.

Now to the man I hated in the book................ Troy. Just the though of reading about him more gets my blood boiling. I knew he was trouble from the moment I read about his character. He is a sly devil and Olivia deserves so much better! AND THAT ENDING!!!! Please let him fall off a cliff or get some help M. Clarke, I hate the man.

All in all I liked the book, but I didnt love it. I hope the next book is way better and Nathan and Olivia put their pride aside and get together.

Quotes:

“People say love can heal and it can mend your soul, but in my case, it broke me and changed me. I was in a dark place, and I didn’t know how to get out.”

"Something was happening. I wasn't looking for this. I didn't want this, but for the first time, I wasn't thinking of Olie. There was no guilt. There was no sadness. Just...me..."

T's: The Wolf Queen by Kelley Heckart Review

Synopsis:

A tormented wolf man… A mysterious girl with a terrible secret…

Alara, a princess from a foreign land, is forced to wed the sorcerer-king Aramon, a power-hungry warlord, who discovers her dark secret and wants to use her to create an invincible army. When she meets Lycaon, she must decide if she should trust the cursed, tormented half-man half-wolf who might be her enemy or her true mate.

Lycaon, once a great king until he was cursed by Zeus to be a werewolf, is drawn to the mysterious princess. He is torn between helping Alara escape and using her to gain power over those who despise him.

Secrets abound and old enemies are reunited to battle Aramon before his terrible plan is unleashed. Time is running out as the dark moon approaches. Soon, Arcadia will be overrun with an unstoppable, vicious army unless Aramon can be defeated. To prevent his victory, the cost is high. As Lycaon’s affection for Alara grows, it becomes more difficult for him to decide which to save: Arcadia or her.

******************************************************

I received this book so I could give it an honest review and help spread the word. I was very intrigued with the book because I have a huge soft spot for fairy tales and Greek mythology. (No spoilers in this review)

I did like the plot line of the story. You have a beauty (Alara) with a huge secret that could destroy the world and falls for a Beast (Lycaon). But what made me like the story more is that he stayed a beast and she still loved him. She loved him for his heart and not his looks.

The story had a lot of twist and turns but it fell flat at the end for me. It seemed to be rushed and the author wasn’t sure which way she was going to go with the story. I thought the book was going to end several times but it seemed to drag at the end. Do not get me wrong I loved the story but this is my only real critic about the book. There are some intimate scenes in the book that are ok, I felt that it didn’t need to be a part of the books, but hey to each there own.

Alara is a head strong girl who only wanted to return to her homeland and get away from her betrothed Aramon. While she runs back to her home, she runs into Lycaon and his band of warriors. Alara struggles with her feelings for Lycaon but as fates decide it they have a connection that keeps bringing them together. She makes some decisions that keep bringing her in danger but she never backs down.

Lycaon is a pain in the neck. You love him and you hate him. He makes some really really dump decisions that made me want to punch him in the face, but what can I say he is a man and I will leave it at that. The more I read the book, the more I began to love him as a character.

If you love Greek mythology and a twist on a Beauty and Beast then you will love this book. I laughed, cried and got angry at times with the book, but I will definitely be reading this book again.

Quotes:

· -“I have never felt the kind of affection I feel for you with anyone. I have no desire to lose you,” he said softly. Still reeling from the pleasure that had engulfed her entire body, she responded in a ragged voice, “I have no desire to lose you either.”

· - “No one really knows how our people were created, but it is believed we were created by the gods and that we carry both dragon and wolf blood in our veins. It is possible my clan carries more dragon blood than wolf blood. Your clan has the purest of wolf blood, which is why your blood is so powerful.”

· - “He will never control what is inside of me.” She straightened her posture in defiance. He smiled faintly. “In a strange way, I admire your fiery spirit.” His expression turned somber. “But you cannot defeat him.” Anger burned inside her, a rising, unwavering flame. “Baloric, when someone tells me I cannot do something, I am more determined to do it.” “Spoken like a true princess of The Golden Wolf Clan,” he said with a wry grin. He strode away from her toward the waterfall.

Britt: Book Review for Dracones Awakening - Sheri-Lynn Marean

I was given this book for an honest review. And, I must say, I am SO happy I did. I read mostly within the Paranormal/ Fantasy genre, but the little corner I love the most is dragons. This book gave that little niche a completely new and fresh perspective.

I'm not going to review the whole plot because the author does a good job of that herself. But, I am going to point out how much fantabulous-ness seeps from these pages :)

Authors Blurb:
"If it lives, it can die...

For thousands of years the Ilyium druids have hunted the Dravones without mercy. At seven, in a terrifying moment, Tierney lost her world and fled from Earth, keeping her true nature secret from humans.

However, a nightmarish part is not easy to escape.

Now, years later, the truth is abundantly clear every time Tierney looks into the tormented eyes the man she lovess. Jax, losing the fight with his inner demons, battles his desires for Tierney, pushing her away - ashamed to speak of a past he cannot forget.

But the Ilyium haven't been idle. As the resurface and come after Tierney and everyone she loves, ancient instincts are triggered in the Dracones. As the battle to overcome the legacy of their past, Tierney and her friends must learn to trust in themselves and each other if they are to survive the Ilyium's sinister plans for them.

Dracones Awakening is the first book in the Dracons series for readers age 17+. If you are a fan of dark, steamy, paranormal romance, you will love Tierney and Jax's story. Buy the book today to be sucked in the the magical world of the dragons, magic and angst ridden sensual heat."

The writing is well done. The story itself is amazing. The characters are well built. And there are enough unanswered questions to lead into a second book, but not so many that you feel this book wast wrapped up.

There's a little bit of something for everyone! Even if you're not into Paranormal.

I cannot wait for the second book, Ill keep a very keen dragon eye out for it

My only criticism is the otver use of the word "baby" in the dialogues. Buts that's not enough for me to take anything away from the rating.

Sheri-Lynn deserves every one of those stars 5 stars.

Im assuming people such as myself, were her main target audience, and I can honestly say she hit the nail on the head, I am 100% with this book, series and Author at this point. And will be recommending it to my book group. Because this is the startup series, it needs all the love it can give if it we're to ever see the second.

So if this books sounds like something you would like to read. please stop by amazon and pick it up. You wont regret it.

Britt's Review: +18 Steal the Light - Lexi Blake (Theives Series)

Hey Guys and Gals!

 I'm Brittaini.
A little about me. Im a 27 year old Mother/Step Mom of 5. I live in a small fishing community and reading helps me travel the world since I'm a little pussy and have a plane phobia >.<. I curse like the sailor that sired me. And I have an obsession with a dragon. Not just any dragon..A PERFECT dragon...-nods off into a day dream-....

Anywho, I sat back and wondered, what book should I review to get my party started! So without further adieu:

Since it's one of my AbsoFav series, I decided I'm going to review Steal The Light by Lexi Blake. The first book in the Theives series.

This is the story of a young thieving human heroine Zoey. Hired to steal a Paranormal Artifact of large purportions, she sets off on an adventure with her "crew", never knowing the love and loss that comes with taking the job.

First let's start with her opening line:
"Grief is a selfish beast ".

Now when I open the first book in a series, and I read that first line, I want to be HOOKED. And, after reading the blurb, downloading the book, and sitting down for a good read, this line was perfect! In 5 small words Mrs. Blake had me. Hook, line and sinker. We all relate to grief. Immediately I thought to myself, " Oh this is going to be good, I'm literally 2 seconds into this book and my heart dropped."

We enter the story at the morgue. Zoey is there to identify a body. A body she is very attached to. Definitely not the happy go lucky starting, that I'm used to these days. Authors want you to see the heroines fall from Normal, Happy, Everyday Girl.. To heroine with enemies, and troubles in their future. But Lexi Blake switches the script, which she seems to do in A LOT of ways. Very refreshing. Zoeys story starts out low, as low as a girl can get, and we see her grow leaps and bounds. Her LadyBallz shine, not just through the first book but the whole series.

By the second chapter, she's turned everything you read in the first around and surprises you! Surprises always make a read more enjoyable. Here, here!

Some of the things I liked about this book:

-Devinshea.. Yip. He is by far my favorite Fae, in all the the fae books, in all the fae universe's. Devinshea is KING fackin' fae. I'm melting the panties over here just thinking about him (But then again I know his whole story). In the first book, you only get a glimpse of his otherworldly sexiness, further on in the series you get a face FULL of his fae magic ;).

- Daniel. In this first book, I want to punch him!  Just grab him straight through the book and box his ears blue. Which seems like a dislike. But, when an author evokes a strong emotion like that, its hard to not appriciate. HOWEVER, knowing what's coming helps me let his boy stoopidness slide. You'll see ;).

-The world building. Mrs Blake merges reality/fantasy so well, the world is ultimately easy to believe in.

-The range of species in this book. We have trolls, vampires, fae, werewolfs, demons, witches ect.. The "clans", " packs", covens and organizations for each species, and their ranks have been well thought out. And, their contributing personal abilities as well.

-"The Crew".. You can tell these characters are tight. And Lexi writes her supporting characters so vividly, you really get a feel for their personalities. Which they DEFINITELY have plenty of lol.
Speaking of which, Neil, the gay werewolf. He's just the bomb. Don't believe me? Here I'll show you :).

"You’re supposed to babysit me? I should warn you, unless you plan on tying me up, I’m leaving in the morning.”His eyes lit up. “Cool, what are we going to do?”I laughed as I sat on the bed. “You’re a crappy babysitter.” “I know. It’s like letting the fox watch the chickens. I have no idea what he was thinking.” Neil’s eyes were wide with incredulity. “The whole time he was talking I was thinking about all the things we could do after we stole his credit cards."

"Keys? Did you think about leaving the keys? The car doesn’t work without the keys, and big surprise—I can’t fly. But no, Superman here just wakes me and takes off like a superhot speeding bullet. I had to run twenty miles on an empty stomach. Twenty miles. Do you know what it was like trying to get across I-35? It was like playing Frogger, and I was the poor little frog. And I think animal control is hunting for me.” Neil paused briefly to take a breath and then started in again. “And then when my sad, starved body finally manages to make it to the place where my thoughtless boss has told me to go, I fall through a bunch of holes in the concrete. Who has sink holes in a parking garage? This hotel sucks. That said, I’m going upstairs to order room service. Did I mention I’m hungry?”

Yup that's Neil, he's the Best friend we ALL want!

Now for some things I Disliked about this book. It's a rather long list, so be prepared.

- Nothing.

Yup that's about it. I love Lexi Blake's writing, storyline and characters. Imagery is good, I felt as if I lived through the story. Not too much, not to little. I can't stand over doing descriptions and Lexi has found the perfect medium.

Warning. There IS a love triangle. It's NOT by any means your regular 3-point drama situation though. Lexi Blake makes this MFM conundrum work so it's not the annoying over used situation and in the end the series wouldn't never been the same without it.

I do have SOME grievances with Zoey. She strong, opinionated, loyal, smart and full of 'Tude... But she's also very blind sometimes. I mean hello! They're Both RIGHT THERE! You'll see what I mean when you pick up this book. And when you read the rest of this series, and the spin off! Because you will, believe me, the first book is just the first very addictive hit, of the Drug I know as the Theives series.

I wouldn't suggest this book or series to anyone under 18. There is strong sexuality in these books. Who I would suggest this to, are those out there that love Paranormal/Fantasy,  Romance and Adventure all bundled up into one Shiny, Sparkling, digital file.
This book gets all the stars in my books ;)!

Peace and Love Book Addicts.
And on that note I leave you with this:

If you're a dreamer, come in
If you're a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
a hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If your a pretender, come sit by my fire.
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in
Come in
Come in.
